G-Kids is the Children's Ministry of The Gathering Church from ages 5-10. The heart of G-Kids is to "Equip Youth" and "Empower Families". 

• We believe the bible is the foundation and guide for equipping children to become fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ.
• We seek to impart the truth of God's word, encourage children to develop a biblical mindset and a christian world view.
• Finally, we seek to help children see the hand of God at work in the world, and to recognize and use their spiritual gifts for the good of the local church and the world.

It is our desire to come alongside parents in nurturing the faith of their children. Our responsibility is to model and to teach truth in an attitude of frequent prayer.

We are always seeking additional volunteers to love our little ones. Out of love and concern for the children and youth in our care, all of our volunteers go through an application process which includes a background check. 

Here's what to expect when visiting G-Kids for the first time:

First, sign your child up on the Welcome kiosk at the Connect Center in the church atrium. There we will meet your family, check your child into our system, and then one of our volunteers will guide you upstairs to their age-appropriate room.

Upon checking in for the first time, we will ask for the following personal information (NOTE: We value your privacy and will not share this information with anyone):

• Parent/guardian name(s)
• Child's name
• Child's birthdate
• Home address
• Phone number
• Any special instructions (allergies, special needs) for your children

Before Service: You can check-in your child at any available kiosk. After finding your child’s name in the database, you and your child will be given matching name tags that are exclusive to your family and your visit. Your child will need to wear the name tag portion while you hold on to the matching tag.

After Service: After the service is complete, you will return to your child’s room and show your tag in order for your child to be released back to you.

During Service: In the event that we need to contact you during the service, your child’s identification code will appear on the screen. We ask that you exit the auditorium immediately and look for a staff member or volunteer who will direct you to your child’s room.

We also have a Parent's Viewing Room that is available upstairs for mothers and fathers with infants. This room is reserved exclusively for parents with infants to enjoy the service in a more private and quiet environment.

Pastor Alverna Shadwick is the director of G-Kids. She has been an educator for over 20 years and serving on The Gathering Church leadership team since its inception in 2003. Pastor Alverna holds a master's degree in Educational Leadership and is licensed school administrator in the state of New Jersey.
